90’s Movies Book Tag!!

Hello, hello!!!! I’ve been tagged! Thank you so much to Karen Jo @Sincerely Karen Jo for tagging me to do this! If you guys haven’t checked out her blog, go ahead and do it right now! Go on, I’ll wait. You won’t be disappointed you did so!

Anyway, I’m super was super excited to do this one. I love 90’s movies,  and I obviously love books, so naturally, I love this tag!  Also, it feels like forever since I did a tag post. I have so many accumulated (and I promise I will get to every single one of them!!!!!) but I was watching Scream the other day and took this as a sign that I should do this tag right away! So, here we are.

Now, without further ado, let’s do this thing!!!

She’s All That

Name a book couple that is an odd pairing but they still fit perfectly

Lorcan and Elide from Empire of Storms by Sarah J. MaasI ship this pairing so hard! He’s this big, muscular, murderous warrior dude and she’s this tiny, innocent, crippled girl and they need to get married and live happily ever after!

10 Things I Hate About You

A book/series that you have a love-hate relationship with

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard – I hated book one in the series. Hated it with the burning intensity of a thousand white-hot suns! Yes, it was that degatsbep. And then, because I’m me, I continued reading the series. And you know what, I don’t hate it anymore. I actually think I really like it, despite the fact that I kinda want to punch Mare in the face. It’s a twisted relationship we have. As much as I may want to throw some of the books out of a window, keep coming back for more! I can’t wait for War Storm!

A character that is totally clueless but you love them anyway

I honestly can’t think of any right now. Not because there aren’t any clueless characters I know of, but because there are none that I particularly like.

Name a book that made you cry

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak – This book killed me. I died and then came back to life and then died again. I read it while at college and my roommate walked in while I was reading the ending and I was just full on sobbing. She was so worried for a second thinking terrible had happened. And something did happen! My heart broke into a million little pieces!

And by the way, I cry every single time I watch Titanic. Even if I know what’s coming, I always end up sobbing by the end of it.

American Pie

A book that makes you laugh

American Panda by Gloria Chao – There are actually a lot of other books that have been really funny but this is the most recent one. Also, American Pie simply had to go with American Panda. It was fated! But seriously though, this book is hilarious. Go read my review HERE, and if I can manage to convince you, go read that book!

Can’t Hardly Wait

A book with a crazy party

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald – I love this book. If its the last thing I do in this life,  I want to have a Gatsby themed party.

Cruel Intentions

Name a character you can never fully trust

Loki from Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman – I love Loki. Not just the Marvel villain version of Loki, but the mythology version of him too. Admittedly, he’s a little evil, murderous, and sets in motion the end of the world, but he’s a pretty likable guy. Just never turn your back on him or you might end up dead or at the very least, bald! And yes, apparently he made Thor’s wife go bald at one point.

Drive Me Crazy

Name your favorite “boy next door” or “girl next door” couple

Again, I’m leaving this one blank because I’ve been sitting here for like a half hour and I no one comes to mind.

A book with a memorable villain

Illuminae by Jay Kristof and Amie Kaufman – There were so many I could have chosen for this one. Levana is definitely an iconic one. There is also The Darkling, whom I absolutely love! But, come on now, a rouge, murderous, yet extremely likable and sympathetic AI in outer space? AIDAN definitely takes this spot for me. He honestly the most memorable character in the entire book.

The Craft

Name a book with witches

Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas – Ok, so this isn’t a book that’s necessarily about witches, but it has witches in it so it counts. Manon is too cool for words, honestly one of my favorite characters in the series.
