Book Recommendation #2!

Stolen Songbird

By Danielle L. Jensen

My rating: ★★

Having just picked up The Broken Ones, by Danielle L. Jensen, I remembered how much I loved her first book Stolen Songbird.

17926775“For five centuries, a witch’s curse has bound the trolls to their city beneath the mountain. When Cécile de Troyes is kidnapped and taken beneath the mountain, she realizes that the trolls are relying on her to break the curse.

Cécile has only one thing on her mind: escape. But the trolls are clever, fast, and inhumanly strong. She will have to bide her time.

But the more time she spends with the trolls, the more she understands their plight. There is a rebellion brewing. And she just might be the one the trolls were looking for.”

Ok, ok, I know what you might be thinking, “Angelica, what exactly are you trying to get us to read?” But hear me out, the book is pretty darn good.

Ignore the ugly cover, ignore the synopsis that basically screams “Special Snowflake”, and ignore the strangeness of the premise, ignore the fact that it’s about trolls. Ignore all that and just go into it with an open mind.

The book is good. Trust me. If you like funny, witty, flawed, and strong willed characters, slow burning romances, and  some very weird fantasy, then this is for you.

Also, this book just so happens to be on sale on Amazon for only $1.99. In fact, all the books are on sale for $1.99 each! There is honestly no better time to pick it up and read it! For the Amazon page click HERE.

About the Author

Danielle L. JensenDanielle was born and raised in Calgary, Canada. At the insistence of the left side of her brain, she graduated in 2003 from the University of Calgary with a bachelor’s degree in finance. But the right side of her brain has ever been mutinous; and in 2010, it sent her back to school to complete an entirely impractical English literature degree at Mount Royal University and to pursue publication. Much to her satisfaction, the right side shows no sign of relinquishing its domination.
